Evan Velthouse graduated with two degrees from The Seccia Institute for Culinary Education in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His career spans more than 20 years. During that time, Evan spent 5 years as an artisan cheesemaker, which is what brought him to the Tri-State area 9 years ago. Since then, he has been back in kitchens doing what he loves, including four years working at Crystal Springs Resort and Restaurant Latour. He started at 1776 two years ago and became Executive Chef one year ago.
